Our Prayer For 29 March 2020

Brother Denis Gray offers Our Prayer For 29 March 2020.

Shalom to my GMC sisters and brothers and may the peace of God continue to be with you and your families throughout this period.

Let us pray:

Sovereign God, Creator of our universe, the Omnipotent, the Omniscient and the Omnipresence One; to You we ascribe, all glory, majesty, dominion and power for You are God alone and there is none like You. We bless Your name for the measure of health and strength that we have enjoyed and for clothing us in our right minds amidst the challenges, uncertainty and throughout this difficult passage of time.

As Jehovah Nissi, You continue to be our banner and as we continue to dwell in Your secret place, we are assured that we abide under the shadow of Your wings. Even though we walk through the valley of death, as our Shepherd, Jehovah Rohi, we know that we need not fear any evil, for You are with us as Jehovah Shammah and Your rod and staff comfort us. Jehovah Shalom, we thank You for the peace and comfort that comes only from You. We are fully assured that You love us with an unfathomable love, You cover us and shield us and that You are in full control of every situation in our lives, however daunting.

Heavenly Father we thank you for Your love, Your mercy and Your grace. Indeed Your steadfast love never ceases and Your mercies never come to an end; but they are new every morning. Your Word declares that Your mercy is for those who fear You, from generation to generation.

Heavenly Father, we pray for a divine visitation of Your mercy and grace upon the continents of this world, upon our country, Jamaica, upon our city Kingston and upon and throughout the length and breath of this island- every nook and cranny.  We declare You to be Lord over these places. During these times, as we grapple with our own personal struggles in our relationships, our obsessions, in our finances and in our health and with the onslaught of diseases such as the corona virus, help us to understand the role that we need to play as intercessors. Help us to be Your instruments of peace, of healing and of deliverance. Give us the strength and fortitude not to give up when we see enemy opposition. Raise up and grow us into powerful intercessors who understand the authority we have been given by you in prayer.

We stand in the gap before You particularly on behalf of our country and indeed this world and ask for Your forgiveness. Lord we do not come to You on the grounds of the nations’ righteousness but on the grounds that You have given us the privilege to appeal for Your mercy. We come before You confessing the sins committed in the nation. Specifically, we confess the sins of idolatry and ungodliness.

We ask that You will pour out Your mercy upon our land instead of the judgment we deserve. Deliver us from human trafficking, abortion, murder, lying, stealing and deception, homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, corruption, fraud, crime, destruction and from violence. Keep us from being polluted by these and other contaminants and by all that goes against Your will for our culture, so that your people may come before You with pure hearts and clean hands; expose all sin in us and wash us clean.

Lord we surrender any fear and anger in us over the things we see happening in our nations today, inclusive of the onslaught of the corona virus which has seemingly taken the world by storm. May these things provoke us to pray rather than complain or withdraw in fear. We know that whatever we ask in Your name Jesus, You will do so that the Father may be glorified. Be glorified, oh God; be thou glorified!

Help us to be instruments of bringing Your power to reign in our own space and in our centres of influence, in our own communities and also in our own nation. Where sin and sickness abound, may Your grace abound even more.

We pause to remember those who are currently victims of the corona virus in our own country and around the world. We pray for:

  • comfort for those who have lost loved ones;
  • healing for those who have tested positive and those undetected ;
  • comfort for those who are isolated and self-isolated;
  • those who are quarantined;
  • those who are recovering;
  • those working in hospitals and the medical services;
  • the associated family members and other high risk vulnerable groups-the aged;
  • the sick;
  • and those with pre-existing medical conditions.

Grant wisdom to all our political, medical, spiritual and other relevant leaders and accelerate a medical cure. Extend Your hand of mercy and grant us Your divine healing and restoration, Your covering and protection. We look to You as our ultimate source, since our help comes from You; You who are our Rock, our Shield and Our Hiding Place.

As a church, Father we ask that You will raise us up as an army of prayer warriors who will enter the war, this spiritual battle, for the long haul. May we refuse to be discouraged in the daily battle against the enemy, Help us to join forces so that Your power is multiplied. As a church and as a congregation of believers, may we move together in unity by the powerful weapon we have in Your word as we continue to move into battle in prayer. May this time, be a time of earnestly seeking Your face in prayer. If  You are for us, who can be against us. Build an impenetrable shield of protection around Your people.

God of revival, pour out Your Spirit upon this nation and indeed the nations of the world, upon our city, upon our communities. Bring unbelievers to a saving knowledge of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We declare this time, as a day of salvation, restoration and revival. Move Holy Spirit to turn those hearts of stone, into hearts of flesh and to transform the dry bones into living breathing instruments of restoration and revival. We give You reign in this our land, and in this world. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord!

For the community of believer at Grace Missionary church, we ask for an outpouring of Your anointing for service. We ask for power and the infilling of the Holy Spirit-we know that Your Holy Spirit already abides in us-but we want more of Him. Among the believers of our church, we ask for:

  • a spirit of genuine humility and brokenness;
  • an awakening of spiritual zeal and diligence;
  • elevated levels of wisdom and discernment particularly among our leadership;
  • steadfastness and immovability – that we will always give ourselves wholly to the work of the Lord;
  • spiritual soberness;
  • spiritual passion and fervency;
  • a spirit of genuine worship;
  • boldness and spiritual authority;
  • and finally we ask for spiritual PROTECTION from sin, Satan, sickness and the world.

Prosper and reign Your blessing down on Your people and continue to be our Jehovah Jireh-the God who provides.

Thank You that Your eyes are on the righteous and that Your ears are open to our prayers. Again, raise up the effectual fervent prayers of Your people. May our church be a praying church. May Your love and peace so rise up in our hearts that they become our greatest testimony of Your goodness.

Heal us and we shall be healed, for You are God our SAVIOUR.

Be gloried oh God.

We pray, in the name of Jesus Christ, our soon coming King of Glory!

Amen.

If you are in need of our prayer or comfort, we urge you contact us with your request. We would be very happy to share with you.
