Streams of Prayer for 5 July 2021
The Streams of Prayer for 5 July 2021, is a circular from Wycliffe Global Alliance. This is made available through Wycliffe Caribbean.
Missions belong to God and the agent of missions is the Church. Please join with us as we pray for Alliance organisations engaged in the Church Participation Stream. We pray also for the Church as it participates in the Bible translation movement.
Helping and sustaining the funding team: South Africa

Praise God for the way that He has sustained more than 25 translation projects in Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands off the East Coast of Africa, despite all the challenges posed by COVID-19. Pray for the finance team of Wycliffe South Africa who provides financial management and reporting services to these projects. Pray also for the team as a key member has returned to Canada. Thank God that he has provided the right people to fill the gap and ask him to continue to sustain them.
2 Corinthians 9 verse 8: Wycliffe Hungary

Volunteer savings for staff: Papua New Guinea
Praise the Lord for the anonymous person who gave a one-time gift towards the support of the administrative staff of the Papua New Guinea Bible Translation Association (PNGBTA) recently.
Virtual tours: Thailand

Wycliffe Thai Foundation held its third ‘virtual tour’ on Virtual tours: Thailand 5 June about Bible translation for the ‘P’ people (P is a pseudonym). Pray for wisdom and guidance for the Bible translation adviser, who was the main speaker at this online event. Also, ask the Lord to move the hearts of the Thai church to continue joining the virtual tours. May the Thai church learn about the importance of Bible translation and actively participate in it.
R200 programme: Singapore

Since 2009 Wycliffe Singapore (WBTS) has hosted the R200 programme. In this programme, language projects in need of funding submit proposals to WBTS, WBTS vets the proposals, then WBTS seeks churches and individuals in Singapore who would be interested in partnering with these language projects through prayer and financial support. WBTS links them up and provides regular prayer updates from the projects for the supporters. Please pray that this programme will continue to be a blessing to both the language projects and the supporters in Singapore.
Funding needed for continuing ministry: Caribbean

The purpose of Wycliffe Caribbean is to assist the Caribbean church as it mobilizes its people to obey the Great Commission to evangelize the world. Its focus is on providing the Word of God for thousands of communities in the language they know best (mother tongue). Pray for an increase in the flow of funds to Wycliffe Caribbean for:
- Everyday monthly expenses related to the operations of the organization
- Development of the Wycliffe Caribbean Training Center
- Mission workers’ financial support and the
- Jamaican Old Testament Project.
Praise God for His bountiful past provision and the joy of anticipation as Wycliffe Caribbean staff look to Him to provide for these needs.
Exploring and studying generosity: Global

Pray for Wycliffe Global Alliance Americas Area Director, Nydia García-Schmidt, who started a PhD study program in March 2021 through Oxford Centre for Mission Studies (OCMS). Her research for the program will focus on generosity and stewardship. Nydia will be studying online, doing field research on Latin American countries, and travelling to OCMS in the UK once annually for the next 4-6 years. The goals of the investigation are to:
- explore ways of developing new resources to approach and invite generosity,
- embrace accountability as a biblical value, and
- provide new tools for better decision-making in funding alternatives.
So please pray that this study program will assist the Wycliffe Global Alliance organisations to:
- explore new ways to participate generously in the Bible translation movement and
- uphold biblical accountability and standards in stewarding these resources.
Also, pray for Nydia and the provision of the scholarships she will need for the length of her studies/research.
