Prayer and Bible Studies:

  • Wednesday midday Bible Studies will resume in January 2024.
  • Wednesday evening Prayer Meeting session starts at 7:00 p.m. on ZOOM. The evening Bible Study begins at 8:00 p.m. and is shared on ZOOM and YouTube.
  • The next Tuesday Morning Online Prayer meeting is scheduled for December 5, 2023, at 5:00 a.m. The Zoom link will be shared.
  • Weekly Thursday Morning Prayer at 10:00 a.m. The GMC Sanctuary will remain open until 4:00 p.m. each Thursday for those who wish to pray there.

Youth Meetings

Grace Youth Ministry (GYM) meets each Friday at @7:00 p.m.
Youth In Praise (YIP) meets on Saturdays at 1:00 p.m. and
Teens In Praise (TIP) meets on Saturdays at 2:30 p.m.

Sunday School Activities

Sunday School classes for all age groups meet from 8:00 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. each Sunday.

  • The Freedom in Christ group meets in the Board Room at 8:00 a.m. with lessons facilitated by Sister Diana Reynolds. All are invited.
  • Regular Adult Sunday School classes continue in the Annex with Sister Paula Blake.

Sunday Service

Our Worship Services continue in a face-to-face format from the Sanctuary each Sunday at 9:00 a.m. It is shared via ZOOM and live-streamed on our YouTube Channel. Our speaker for this Sunday is Sister Maxine Ranger, a member of our Youth Advisor Team.

We welcome your feedback regarding our Bible Studies and Sunday Services. Your comments will help us to grow and serve you better. So call or email the office or any of the Elders or Deacons, or email us via our website using our contact page. In addition, you may complete an online survey on our Polls page. We greatly appreciate your feedback.

Membership and Baptism

We ask anyone desirous of Baptism or Membership, please indicate your interest to the Church Office, or speak directly with Reverend Mark Dawes.

GMC Connect Card

The GMC Connect Card is available on our Membership Page and from our Team of Ushers. We invite you to complete and submit the card to help us to get to know you better. This will help us to provide the spiritual support you may need from time to time.

Members’ Milestone Recognition

The Membership Department wants to recognize and celebrate with our members with upcoming Milestone Birthdays or Wedding Anniversaries. If you have one such special event, please share it with Sister Dawn Ashley- the Social Support Officer or a member of the Church Office Team.

Church Photo Directory

Efforts continue to develop a Church Photo Directory here at GMC, to help our members recognize and get to know each other. This is a part of our drive to facilitate caring relationships within our fellowship. For those who wish to participate, we ask that you kindly email to the Church Office, a recent photo ( a selfie will also work), that represents you. GMC’s email address is gracemis@cwjamaica .com. Those without electronic access may send or hand deliver photos to the Church Office Team.

Other Announcements

Sister Darlene Jones – Sunday School Superintendent, wishes to thank everyone who made the GMC-sponsored Parenting Forum in Rae Town (last Sunday) a success. About 20 parents including four men attended. To God Be the Glory! We are particularly grateful to Fidelity Motors
for their contribution.

We continue to offer support through our prayers and words of encouragement to our members and adherents who have recently lost loved ones. May the peace and comfort of our Lord be yours.

Jamaica observes National Youth Month and National Parents’ Month each November. This year the general theme is Participation For Purpose.

At GMC this month, under the theme “Leading With Excellence“, we have been celebrating with our Young People through several special activities and we have seen the Lord equipping them for ministry. The theme for GMC’s Parents’ Month observance theme is “Parenting with Purpose”. Please continue to support the remaining events and surround these groups with our prayers, as we approach the end of this special month.

Please pray for a safe trip and a rich time of blessing and spiritual renewal for our young people and Youth Advisors who have travelled today to attend the National Missionary Youth Ministry (NMYM) Annual Youth Convention at the Kendal Camp & Conference Centre in Manchester.

You are invited to the 31st Annual National Prayer Vigil at The East Queen Street Baptist Church on Sunday, Dec 10, 2023, at 6:00 p.m.

GMC’s Benevolence Drive (The Barrel of Love) is on for Christmas 2023. The Membership Department is reaching out once more for donations of non-perishable items, to be delivered to the Church Office by December 11, 2023. Christmas baskets will then be prepared for distribution to our vulnerable members and adherents. Please assist if you can.

The Children’s Christmas Production will take place on December 10, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. here at GMC. Come and support our YIP and TIP teams and celebrate the Birth of the King!

Our Christmas Sing-Along and Fellowship Dinner will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023. We anticipate your usual support in attendance, as well as contributions in cash and/or kind to the provision of the meal. The list of items needed has been circulated by email and, as always, we are grateful for your kind support. Please respond by return email or a call to the Church Office at 876-969-0413.

The Greater Grants Pen Ministers Fraternal meets for prayer on the 1st Monday of each month. All Christians of member churches of the fraternal are invited to pray for revival in the communities served by the fraternal.

The Greater Portmore Missionary Church will hold their Annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 4:00 p.m. (This is a change in date from November 12, 2023).

Prayers

Please continue to pray for God’s healing touch for our members who are at this time recuperating. Also, please remember to pray for the “Sick and Shut-Ins” and those classified as vulnerable. In addition, remember to stay in touch with each other during our time of isolation and separation.

Resumption of Church Activities

We continue to observe the following protocols for your safety and comfort when we meet:

  1. Hand Washing and Sanitization.
  2. Mask Wearing in enclosed spaces (highly recommended, but not mandated).
  3. Maintaining Physical distance (highly recommended, but not mandated).
  4. Remaining at home if you are feeling unwell.

Also, please remember to pay very close attention to the periodic updates and advisories issued by the Health Authorities.

Please remember to call and pray with one another. Also, keep safe, practice social distancing, wash hands, and clean surfaces regularly.

In addition, remember to wear your masks, sanitize, and maintain 6 feet physical distance. Also, let us keep in touch and encourage each other, especially during these very challenging times.
