Weekly Prayer 10 April 2020
Sister Joan Peart offers the Weekly Prayer for 10 April 2020.
My Brothers and Sisters, Friends,
God’s Blessings.
We pray that you are doing well, but if you or someone else is in need of prayer, counselling or other form of support, please let us know.
It is an interesting and challenging time for the body of Christ and the world by extension. Nonetheless, we continue to look to God who is our main source of covering, peace, provision and comfort.
In our Christian calendar, during this period, we acknowledge the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He made the ultimate sacrifice for us, by His love. This has given us an opportunity to make the choice for eternal life with Him.
We are eternally grateful to Him for His faithfulness, and that He remains faithful because He cannot deny Himself.
At a time like this we have many of our people who are making sacrifices, working on the front-line, trying to offer services that are of necessity to us. We lift up these persons to God for His mercies, covering, provision and protection. Today, we start with specific weekly prayers for those persons. This week’s prayer is led by our own Sister Joan Peart.
Let us now look to the Lord in prayer
Our, Gracious, Loving, Heavenly Father, Elohim, Creator of Heaven and Earth, El Elyon, The Most High God; we come before you at this time thanking you for who you are; for all you have done and all that you are about to do in our lives, in this Nation and the World at large.
Father God, we receive you as our Protector, Deliverer, and our Covering.
Lord, humanity is under attack by an invisible enemy, a pestilence, called Corona virus19. Lord we ask for your mercy!
We confess our many sins as a people and as a nation. Forgive us of ours sins Lord, individually and as a nation. Your Word says; “that if my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves, seek my face, turn from their wicked ways, you will hear from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their Land.” That’s your promise to us Lord and we stand on it in faith because you are indeed a promise keeping God, Halleluah! Be it unto us Lord according to your Word.
Lord we pray in the name of Jesus for our Our Governor General Sir Patrick Allen, our Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, The Minister of Finance, Dr. Nigel Clarke, The Minister of Health, Dr. Christopher Tufton, and all the other members of our Government; and the leader of the Opposition, Dr. Peter Philips and other opposition members; and their families. We ask that you give them knowledge, and wisdom and keep them in good health. We pray for unity at this time in the fight against this pandemic.
Thank you Lord that our Prime Minister and Governor General, as leaders of this country; publicly acknowledged and invited your supernatural intervention into this crisis by setting the prayer tone for the nation.
Lord we remember now and pray for all our Health care workers and their support staff, and their families; Our Doctors, Nurses, Dentists, and Pharmacists. We pray for a hedge of protection around them and we draw a blood line around them in the mighty name of Jesus! We remember all those persons in our congregation who are in this group Lord and we call some of them by name, and draw a blood line around them all in the name of Jesus:
Dr. Asana Wilks, Dr. Rohan Wilks, Dr. Kahlete Fallon, Dr. Tina Wong, Dr. Vernon Jones, Dr. Leighton Logan, Dr. Jhenell Black, Dr. Dana Jones, Dr. Eleanor Reynolds, Sandra Bucknor- Jones, Viveen Watson and others.
Lord we declare your Word that says; no weapon (of Covid19 sickness) formed against them shall prosper because that is the inheritance of the children of God.
Lord we pray for a covering and a hedge of protection on other persons on the front-line; members of the Jamaica Police Force, The Jamaica Defense Force, and our Security Guards.
We also remember Lord those persons working in the service industry: our merchandisers, supermarket workers, custom brokerage, Judges, Lawyers, Business owners.
Those persons in our congregation who fall in the category above, Lord, we remember them especially and plead the blood of Jesus’ covering on them from the top of their heads to the sole of their feet. Keep them safe:
Spacie Shepherd, Loy Evans, Jackie Mair, Janet Williamson, Paula Blake Powell, Grace Henry McKenzie, Ewan and Maxine Oliver, Warrick Bogle, Lanna and Desmond Bennett, Marcia Leair, Cornel Richards and family, Nicole Fender, Maxine and Benedict Ranger, Melva Knight, Carol and Leroy Blake, and others.
In the name of Jesus, we declare that this nation, in spite of what we face, is blessed of the Lord and no weapon formed against Jamaica shall prosper. This country is filled with people who pray and seek God’s face, and as a result Lord your eyes and ears are attuned to our prayer (2 Chronicles 7:15) Deliver us from this evil pestilence Lord. We declare in the Mighty Name of our Lord Jesus, this virus is here illegally and must leave and return to the pit of hell from where it came! In the Name of Jesus! Satan the Blood of Jesus is against you!
We give you God, all the Glory and Honor.
I pray that there be no division among the citizens of this country and that good sense will prevail, as we all adhere to regulations and instructions.
Lord we need you to survive, and so we praise you and thank you in advance for answering our prayer.
“Give thanks unto the Lord: call upon his Holy Name, declare and make known his deeds among the peoples of the earth; proclaim that his name be exalted!” (Isaiah 12:4)
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen! Hallelujah!
Shalom, Shalom
