Weekly Prayer 19 April 2020

Anjesh Zodge offers the Weekly Prayer for 19 April 2020.

Brothers, Sisters and Friends,

We pray that you are doing well. Please let us know if you or anyone you know is in need of prayers or any other form of support. Those who have reached out to us, be assured that you and your loved ones are in our prayers.

We continue to see a rise in the number of Corona Virus cases in Jamaica and worldwide. We have seen where a number of our members and adherents in the MCA have lost loved ones through natural causes but we continue to trust God for an increase in His grace and mercies.

It is because He lives we look towards a tomorrow. It is because He lives that our fears and anxieties will have to go in the name of Jesus Christ. We know that the Almighty God holds the future. We know that He holds our hands.

The Corona Virus is an unseen force but NEVER forget that there is a greater unseen supernatural power, that of El Sabaot (Lord of Armies) and our Jehovah Rapha (The God who Heals). So we continue to trust and believe in the power of the Almighty God to deliver, heal, protect and restore us, our families and countries.

Today’s prayer is led by our own Anjesh Zodge, who is 12 years of age.

Let us now look to the Lord in prayer:

Most Righteous and Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before you today with hearts of gratitude and humility. We thank you for keeping us safe during these times that we have been going through with the Corona Virus. We are grateful that you have kept our confirmed cases low. Lord, this pandemic is affecting all of us on a global scale. We ask that you will look down and have mercy on us. We ask that you will forgive us of our sins and come to live with us in our hearts.

Lord, we ask that you will protect families and friends across the world. We pray that the leaders of all countries, especially the leaders of our country, Jamaica, will be touched by the Holy Spirit and will make the right choices, and take the right precautions for their countries. We lift up to you Almighty God PM Andrew Holness, MOH Christopher Tufton, Minister of National Security, Horace Chang, MOFP Nigel Clarke, Attorney General Marlene Mahaloo-Forte and their families, every health and related worker support staff, security forces etc. Father, we pray for covering and protection over them.

We pray for every Jamaican, especially members of our families (church and biological families). Remember those who have loved ones overseas who are dealing with the virus. We pray for complete healing. We pray for those who are mourning. Please comfort them and their families at this time.

Lord God, during this time, we must observe social distancing, but we truly believe, that one day, we will all be able to get back together with our loved ones and friends and will be able to talk, hug and just enjoy ourselves with the novel coronavirus behind us, in Jesus’ Name.

Lord, we thank you for food, shelter, water, clothes and medical protections. We thank you for our wonderful island of Jamaica. We ask that you will keep our island safe. Keep us safe from all disasters whether natural or man-made. We have been having lots of robberies and murders. We ask that it will all be cut out and that our country will be a lovely and peaceful place to live, work, and raise families.

All of these things we pray, and so much more in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Amen
