Streams of Prayer for 1 September 2025
The Streams of Prayer for September 1, 2025, is a circular from the Wycliffe Global Alliance. Wycliffe Caribbean makes this available.
August 31, 2025 – September 6, 2025
Leadership
One way the Wycliffe Global Alliance serves Bible translation movements is by nurturing current and future leaders. Through forums, coaching, mentoring and encouragement, we provide them opportunities to learn and grow as servant leaders. Leaders need our support and prayers to discern how God is leading their organisations in times of great change.
Each Alliance organisation needs godly men and women to lead and discern in how to engage with God, with the church, and with partner organisations in the Bible translation movement. Thank the Lord for all who have courageously led in the past year. Pray for those being trained and prepared for leadership, and for those transitioning into and out of leadership roles. May each leader, leadership team and board know the equipping, anointing and gifting of the Holy Spirit.

Leading through political uncertainties and unrest: Global
Pray for Alliance Area Directors. Each of them works with organisations experiencing political unrest, conflict and war. Our news is filled with stories of unstable situations and war around the world. Pray that Alliance leaders will have wisdom and discernment to be an encouragement and support to the Alliance organisations and leaders they serve. Pray these Scriptures for them, that they will:
- Rely on God to walk them through deep waters. ‘When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; ….’ Isaiah 43:2a (NIV)
- Experience his protection and hear his answers. ‘… How many rise up against me! But you, Lord, are a shield around me. … I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.’ Psalm 3:1-4 (NIV)
Website revision: Global
Pray for the Alliance communications team as they develop a redesigned wycliffe.net website and update other communication materials. Praise God for adding Otabil Arthur from GILLBT in Ghana to the team, who is designing the technical part of the site and is also knowledgeable about social media. Pray for final decisions about design, wisdom for revision of pages and transfer of content in six languages in preparation for launching the new site at the end of September. Pray for energy, inspiration and wisdom as the team serves to keep our global movement connected.

Governance and administration looking to the future: Burkina Faso
ANTBA values excellence in organisational governance and administration and seeks to make strategic choices in its leadership and operations. Thank God for ANTBA’s leadership, which has been directing the organisation for three years since July 2024. Pray for the success of the major projects that ANTBA’s Executive Management team has undertaken for the next three years in terms of organisational leadership. Ask for God’s support in implementing changes in governance and administrative management. Pray that leaders will be found who can fit the profiles of leadership roles that have been developed. Pray also for the training of ANTBA leaders and local partners in Bible translation, so that each of them can be equipped to meet the challenges and needs of their organisations.
Growing as a spiritual community: Canada

In October 2024, Wycliffe Canada restructured, which included the launch of the Spiritual Vitality Team (SV Team). Bert Visser provides leadership and reports to the President, Jon ImBeau. The goal of the SV team is to more intentionally nurture the spiritual health of all Wycliffe Canada staff. With Bert retiring in November 2025, Valerie Salkeld has been asked to replace him as VP, Spiritual Vitality. Pray for this time of transition. The desire is to see Wycliffe Canada grow as a spiritual community: all staff feeling part of a community, ministering with unity and abiding in Jesus. Pray for deepening of spiritual growth individually and corporately, and for discernment as to what steps God wants their community to take to nurture spiritual growth.

Strategic organisational development: Germany
As part of their strategic development process, Wycliffe Germany held a Future Search Conference in May. Five major themes emerged from this interactive process: Vision, Partnerships, Church, Youth and (organisational) Structure. After gathering further input at the annual members conference in June, the next steps in the organisational development process are now being launched. Pray for:
- Discernment and clarity of vision.
- Courage and trust in all decisions.

Wisdom, strength, unity, humility: Singapore
- Ask the Lord to bless Charles Ho (Executive Director of Wycliffe Singapore) with wisdom, strength and joy. There are many challenges he has to handle, including changes in the mission context and the need for more staff.
- Pray for continued unity and cohesiveness within the team as they work with Charles in carrying out their mission. Pray against the schemes of the evil one to disrupt a collaborative spirit.
- Pray for the Board and Wycliffe Singapore staff to seek the Lord faithfully, as his servants, and to exhibit humility and grace to one another.

Organisational change and vision alignment: Caribbean
Wycliffe Caribbean has been engaging in an organisational restructuring exercise, which focuses on the need for change and vision alignment across the organisation and among the teams. It also seeks to strengthen team collaboration, operational efficiency in a new structure, and leadership development and succession planning. The teams were very engaged with the exercise and had intense discussions as they reached for the goal of alignment. Wycliffe Caribbean still has a long way to go, but is well on the way. Also, over a three-day meeting with the team in June, devotions focused on the following core values: Christlikeness in life and work, the church as central in God’s mission and the Word translated. Pray for this process of restructuring, alignment, succession planning and leadership development, that God will guide the staff at Wycliffe Caribbean every step of the way.
