Leadership
One way the Wycliffe Global Alliance serves Bible translation movements is by nurturing current and future leaders. Through forums, coaching, mentoring and encouragement, we provide them opportunities to learn and grow as servant leaders. Leaders need our support and prayers to discern how God is leading their organisations in times of great change.
Each Alliance organisation needs godly men and women to lead and discern in how to engage with God, with the church, and with partner organisations in the Bible translation movement. Thank the Lord for all who have courageously led in the past year. Pray for those being trained and prepared for leadership, and for those transitioning into and out of leadership roles. May each leader, leadership team and board know the equipping, anointing and gifting of the Holy Spirit.

Leadership that sets the tone: Cameroon
CABTAL values interdependence for the accomplishment of God-given vision. Efforts are made to avoid fragmented relationships among supervisors, staff and colleagues that can hinder the flow of communication, collaboration and ultimately the progress of the mission. By maintaining unified and focused teams, CABTAL is better able to accomplish the shared vision of seeing communities and individuals transformed by God’s Word in their languages. The General Director of CABTAL and the senior leadership team set the tone for a personal relationship with God through corporate prayer and Bible study. Thank God for their fruitful supervision of various staff members. This ensures that everyone remains closely connected and dependent on the Lord Himself who is the leader of all. Pray that this positive leadership culture will continue to bring honour to God.
Strengthening leadership capacity for organisational growth: Africa

Wycliffe Global Alliance Africa is leading a two-year organisational strengthening initiative that started in September 2024. It focuses on equipping leaders through shared learning, mutual encouragement and joint problem-solving to drive organisational development.
- Thank God for this programme focused on enhancing leadership capacity from a missiological perspective, and on encouraging leaders to reflect on their roles and develop a clear vision for their organisations’ futures.
- Pray for leaders of these Alliance organisations benefiting from this collaborative approach: ACATBA, ANTBA, ACOTBA SUBO, ATALTRAB, GILLBT, Wycliffe Togo, Wycliffe Africa, Wycliffe South Africa, NBTT, ITA, ACTB, CABTAL and ECSTD.
- Pray for fruitful results and that an effective and strong foundation for long-term transformation would be laid.
- Pray that leaders will be able to implement strategies well in their contexts and that as a result, participating organisations will be strengthened.
New director search and prayers for leaders: Indonesia

Pray for Kartidaya’s executive director search, that God will lead them to the person he has chosen. Pray also for the following:
- Unity and trust at all levels of leadership, so that each decision will strengthen and advance the shared mission
- God’s guidance of Kartidaya’s leadership transition process, resulting in leaders who are humble, full of integrity and have a clear vision for translation ministry in Indonesia
- Wisdom and discernment for leaders developing the long-term strategy (2026-2030), so that more language communities in Indonesia can access God’s Word
- Identification, training and discipleship of the next generation of leaders—who can carry the ministry forward with servant hearts, spiritual maturity and the necessary skills
- God’s protection over the families and personal lives of Kartidaya leaders. Pray that leaders remain spiritually strong, faithful, and exemplary in their character and ministry.
Caring for mission workers in a changing world: Romania
With God’s help, Wycliffe Romania aims to send missionaries who can bring him glory through their ministries. Their primary concerns are the spiritual, physical and emotional well-being of their cross-cultural workers, ensuring they can continue their work over the long term. They are developing a strategic care plan tailored to the needs of the workers. In this ever-changing world, it is important to remain vigilant and take into account new factors that influence how missionary work is carried out. Wycliffe Romania seeks the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Additionally, staff pray for strong cooperation with the sending churches and for wisdom in forming the team that will support missionaries at all stages of their journey. They also pray for collaboration at a national level with other partner mission organisations, intending to develop a comprehensive strategy for forming a missionary care team.
New director needed: Switzerland

Wycliffe Switzerland is looking for a new director, as their current director, Peter Wilburg, is stepping down at the end of September. A few candidates have been interviewed. Pray that God will show clearly who should be the next director. Pray for God’s wisdom upon the new director, who will lead the organisation through a season of great change.
Refreshment and direction for Area leaders: Asia, Pacific
Themed “Around the Table in God’s Mission”, the Asia-Pacific Area Conference will be held 20-23 October 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand. Leaders from Alliance organisations in the area will gather for fellowship and discussion.
- Pray for the presenters and facilitators to have God’s wisdom and discernment as the Spirit leads them, to lead discussion on future direction and next steps.
- Pray for preparation for the pre-conference day for the Indonesian Alliance organisations—that the theme and fellowship will deepen trust, relationships and partnership.
- Praise God that Hannes Wiesmann, the Alliance’s Assistant to the Executive Director, will facilitate a half-day spiritual retreat for the leaders. Pray for his preparation and that the Lord will minister to leaders’ hearts in those sessions.
Conversations about Bible translation on Christian television: Guatemala

Members of the Guatemala Roundtable (Mesa) for Bible Translation and Use of the Scriptures are participating in a series of live, weekly interviews every Thursday on Buenas Nuevas de Esperanza (Good News of Hope) on Christian TV from 21 August to 30 October. They are presenting on topics such as: ‘Why doesn’t everyone have a Bible yet?’ ‘The first time they heard God in their language’ ‘How much does it cost to translate the Bible?’ ‘Who translates the Bible and how is a team formed?’ ‘Women in Bible translation’, ‘Oral translation’ and ‘The impact of Bible translation’.
- Thank God for this opportunity to share the vision of translation in Guatemala via Christian media.
- Pray that more people will be inspired to participate in Bible translation and that more denominations or organisations might become partners in the Guatemala translation roundtable (Mesa).
