Streams of Prayer for 28 July 2025
The Streams of Prayer for July 28, 2025, is a circular from the Wycliffe Global Alliance. Wycliffe Caribbean makes this available.
July 27, 2025 – August 2, 2025
Bible Translation Programmes
Wycliffe Global Alliance serves Bible translation movements because we long for language communities to encounter God through His Word. As written in the Alliance Foundational Statements, one of our core values is “trusting God to transform lives through His Word translated into the languages and cultures of the world’s peoples”.
We will pray for Bible translation efforts around the world and specific ways that Alliance organisations participate in the Bible Translation Programmes participation stream. We will also celebrate lives changed through Scripture and pray that many more communities will be powerfully impacted as they encounter God through the Bible translated into the language they understand best.

Partnering in multiple projects: Netherlands, Southeast Asia
Wycliffe Netherlands is working closely with multiple partners in a Southeast Asian country, supporting translation projects and Scripture engagement activities. Please pray for:
- Good communication and cooperation among the different partners serving in translation in this country.
- Protection for the translation teams, as there is conflict in the region, and travelling is restricted and dangerous.
- Good internet connections so that translators can work remotely with translation advisors and consultants.
- The oral Bible translation project in one of the gateway languages, that God’s Word will come alive for people, change people’s hearts and reach the unreached.
- Bible storytelling activities—wisdom and inspiration for the story crafters.
- People to receive hope and encouragement from radio broadcasts and online Scripture materials.
- More facilitators for the trauma healing programme in this country, as there are many requests for this kind of support.
Translations Near publication: Philippines

Praise God with TAP for the completion of the Ginsalugen Subanen and the Gaddang New Testament audio recordings by Faith Comes By Hearing. Pray for:
- People’s lives to be transformed through listening to God’s Word.
- Orthography issues to be resolved to complete the Ginsalugen Subanen translation project.
- Provision of funding for the Ginsalugen Subanen Scripture portions reading programme.
- Decisions on launch dates for the Gaddang and the Ginsalugen Subanen New Testaments, and provision for printing and celebration costs.
Making the dream a reality: Burkina Faso
Bible translation into Burkina Faso’s local languages is ANTBA’s main focus. Thank God for the daily commitment of ANTBA’s staff and partners to make this dream a reality.
Praise God for:
- 12 New Testaments and one full Bible already translated and dedicated.
- 22 New and Old Testament translation programmes in progress.
Pray for:
- Arrival of the printed copies of the Bissa Barka, Djan and Bwamu Cwii New Testaments in Burkina Faso (so they can be dedicated and distributed).
- Programmes with completed New Testaments that expect to begin Old Testament translation soon: Bissa Barka, Bwamu Cwii, Sicité, Koromfé Est, Bwamu-Laa, Winien, San Mayaa, San Matyaa and Djan communities.
- The linguistic communities in the country that need translation work to start.
- Peace and security in Burkina Faso so that translation programmes can be carried out in stability.
Recording Genesis and Jonah: Brazil
The Dasê* people have had the New Testament in their language, in print and audio, since 2004. Genesis and Jonah were translated shortly thereafter, but were not published in print or recorded in audio form. Now, ALEM and partner organisations are looking for resources with the Brazilian church to produce the audio recording of these books in July and August. Pray for:
- Travel safety and good health for all involved in the recording, both the native speakers who will read the text as well as the technical recording workers.
- The relationships among all involved, that everything takes place in harmony, peace and under God’s guidance.

Inviting involvement, praying for impact: UK, Africa

Wycliffe UK requests prayer for sharing the vision for Bible translation at an event this week, and for a project that some of their staff are involved in, for an African language community. Pray for:
- Wycliffe UK’s exhibit at the New Wine Festival, 30 July to 4 August. Pray that many will be inspired to partner in Bible translation.
- Eli* and Ruth*, who work with diaspora people who have come to France from a community in West Africa. Pray for Ruth* as she helps the team in Africa translate the Bible clearly into their language, and pray for impact of the Scriptures on people in both countries.

Engaging people with the Scriptures: Ghana
GILLBT has made significant strides in engaging people with the Scriptures across churches and communities, using diverse strategies that are part of Bible translation programmes.
- Thank God for the Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) programme, which is helping groups grow in faith by listening to the audio Bible in their local languages.
- Pray for the ongoing impact of the Literacy for Life programme, enabling believers to engage with Scripture directly and deepen their understanding.
- Ask God to multiply the impact of training sessions for churches, pastors and communities—strengthening both theological and cultural foundations for engaging with the Bible in local languages.
- Pray also for GILLBT, that the Lord would bless and strengthen its work in equipping churches and communities to use translated Scriptures effectively.

Praise for young people catching the vision: Thailand, Global
Wycliffe Thai Foundation has invested in sharing its vision for Bible translation with young people and exposing those who do not yet know Christ to the Scriptures. Praise God for:
- Twenty-four campers from five countries—Singapore, Mongolia, USA, Myanmar and Thailand—who were exposed to cross-cultural missions at the latest Camp Wycliffe in May. Ask God to lead them as they consider future involvement.
- Two interns for the Lanna Literacy programme who will be equipped to be literacy workers. Pray that God will grant them flexibility and grace as they develop their skills while serving in this community.
Thirty-three people who got to explore Scripture and apply it to their lives through the topic “What do the Psalms Say?” during Bible Week (2-6 June). Pray that this exposure to Scripture will continue to have an impact on the participants’ lives.
