Generosity, Funding and Specialty Services
Community is at the heart of the Wycliffe Global Alliance. As we serve together in community within global Bible translation movements, we seek to show each other love, respect and honour. Through recognising interdependence and interconnectedness, we seek an environment where all Alliance organisations are free to give generously and receive graciously. Giving takes many forms, such as through providing time, expertise, staff or financial assistance. We affirm each other for who we are and not for the type or quantity of the contribution. Our primary goal is to glorify God together in Bible translation.

Partnership is key: Global
Praise God for those who generously give money to Bible translation movements. Ask God to increase the number of those who give and for deeper relationships between financial partners and the various Alliance organisations. May we see the advancement of God’s kingdom and the joy of doing this together with brothers and sisters in Christ. Pray for true partnerships in which all Alliance organisations have something to offer as well as something to receive from donors. Pray for a deeper understanding of building mutual relationships with donors and honouring them as partners in God’s mission.
Relying on divine providence: Burkina Faso
In order to carry out its activities, the Association Nationnale pour la Traduction de la Bible et l’Alphabétisation (ANTBA) relies largely on divine providence through the generosity of Alliance partners. This generosity has manifested itself in various ways over the past 32 years of ministry, enabling ANTBA to pursue its mission of making God’s Word available and carrying on holistic activities through involvement in more than 30 language communities. The latest example of this generosity is the simultaneous launch of oral Bible translation projects in five language communities. This was made possible by the generosity of an Alliance partner committed to oral translation. Praise God for this kindness and for the renewed trust with partners, which has enabled a relaunch of some programmes.
A good start for 2024 with financial blessing and protection: Japan
Join Wycliffe Japan to praise the Lord for a good start for 2024. Their FY2023 financial audit in January went well. They thank God, too, for his blessing and protection over the
organisation financially.
Opportunity for generosity: LETRA Paraguay
LETRA Paraguay funds most of its involvement in Bible translation through the generosity of several donors. However, there are several needs that LETRA Paraguay can no longer cover with its current budget. These relate to the working conditions of translation teams, with needs such as motorcycles and fuel, chairs and tables, wifi equipment and fans/air conditioners. These needs are for teams of the Aché (Eastern Region), Toba Maskoy (Paraguayan Chaco), Chamacoco (Paraguayan Chaco) communities. Another need is to provide air conditioning for translators’ lodging at LETRA Paraguay headquarters. Pray for God’s provision of these practical needs. Praise God for the faithfulness of these teams who continue to carry out the translation projects in the various communities.
Serving in literacy coordination and leadership: New Zealand, Mexico
Wilf and Anita Flores from Wycliffe New Zealand serve with SIL Mexico. Anita is the literacy coordinator and Wilf assists in leadership responsibilities. Praise the Lord for technology that enables Anita to work remotely, coordinating activities and literacy workshops. Pray for Wilf as he teaches an online master’s level course on translation and interpretation with another colleague through a Mexican university, four hours per week for one semester. Pray for the students who need much help as they are learning to read and write well in their indigenous languages. Praise God for the March workshop on the book of Exodus that Wilf participated in as an assistant teacher while continuing to polish the translation of Exodus in Sochiapam Chinantec.
Hearing God’s Word in your language: Netherlands
Around Pentecost, as part of the celebration of “hearing God’s Word in your own language“, the staff at Wycliffe Netherlands wants to reach many new people with the mission of Bible translation. Pray that people will be touched by this message and join in praying and giving for the Bible translation work.
Fundraising for national conference and operations: Papua New Guinea
The Papua New Guinea Bible Translation Association (PNGBTA) is working toward several fundraising initiatives and activities this year. Funds from two major fundraising events in Port Moresby and Madang will go toward hosting the national conference and area programme meetings in Madang in October. All regional offices are also encouraged to organise fundraising activities to support their operations. PNGBTA leaders said while they appreciate the generous support of partners and friends, it is important for them to raise funds within the country to support their operations. Pray for the Lord’s wisdom and guidance in the planning and implementation of these plans. Ask the Lord for his blessing and favour to bring in the finances and resources.
