People
It is our privilege to be involved with God’s mission, both individually and corporately. Alliance organisations committed to the People Participation Stream recruit and/or send people to serve in Bible translation movements, working either in their own countries or elsewhere. They can serve with their sending organisation, other Alliance organisations or partner organisations.
As you pray for the specific items below, pray also that each Alliance organisation in the People stream will continue to respond boldly to what God shows them about how to strategically utilise people and care for them well in changing contexts and situations. Pray too that organisations collaborate well across different human resources practices when personnel from one sending organisation are assigned to serve under another.

Alliance Leadership Team meets in February: Singapore, Global
Pray as the Alliance Leadership Team (ALT) gathers in Singapore in late February, that they would have wisdom and unity of hearts as they discuss issues. May the Lord bless each of the leaders and protect them from harm. Pray for Wycliffe Singapore staff as they help host the meetings. Some of the ALT members will speak at workshops, meetings and churches. Pray that these interactions with other organisations and churches will create opportunities for collaboration.
People, the backbone of Bible translation: Ghana
People remain central to Bible translation. Over the years, GILLBT has benefited greatly from the contributions of expatriates who dedicated their time and skills to this mission. Today, while only a few expatriates remain active in the field, the majority of the work is carried out by trained Ghanaian professionals. These include translators, Scripture engagement workers and consultants who lead various programmes across the country. Thank God that a good number of GILLBT’s consultants extend their expertise beyond Ghana, offering services in other parts of the world. Indeed, people remain the backbone of Bible translation—whether as the workforce driving the mission or as funders supporting the work. To sustain and grow this critical work, GILLBT aims to raise a network of 5,000 partners who can support Bible translation through financial contributions, in-kind donations or other relevant forms of assistance. Pray for the success of this initiative.
Prioritising and strategising despite challenges: the Netherlands
The team at Wycliffe Netherlands are facing some staffing challenges. Pray for sufficient staffing at the office, as some are struggling with (long-term) illness and some will go on maternity leave. Pray for everyone to have good energy and wisdom in prioritising the workload. In the coming months, Wycliffe Netherlands staff will develop a multi-annual strategy for 2026-2028. Pray for wisdom and guidance in this process. Pray also for the ongoing application processes for those who are interested in serving with Wycliffe Netherlands. Ask God to give safety, health, strength and wisdom to all those serving in cross-cultural assignments.
Helping others access the Word of God: South Africa
Wycliffe South Africa (WSA) has people serving on the field, assigned to other Alliance organisations, and in the WSA office. Praise God that last year, Rina Blomerus was appointed as member care coordinator for the field staff. Photos of all the members have also been put up in the boardroom of the organisation so that they can be kept in people’s prayers regularly. There’s no current human resources person in place. Please pray that this need will be met. Other services, like the WSA translation services team, have staff on the field looking after relationships with people and language groups in South Africa. Wycliffe South Africa also has various staff members working in other parts of the world. All of these people contribute to Bible translation, helping other people to access the Word of God. The endeavour abroad includes teaching children of international workers, Bible translation, literacy and Scripture engagement.
Pray strategic priorities: UK and Ireland
Join the team at Wycliffe UK and Ireland as they pray for God’s provision and enabling to fulfil strategic priorities.
- Pray that God would bring new cross-cultural workers whose skills can meet the needs of partners and the global movement
- Pray that they will continue to strengthen their culture so that everyone thrives at Wycliffe UK and Ireland
- Pray that we will continue to be able to recruit, train and retain high-calibre staff, and support them well in their development
- Pray that they will be able to strengthen our connections with each other in Wycliffe UK and Ireland. In particular, pray that they will be able to continue to strengthen their care for and communication with their workers.
Teaching and studying Hebrew: Israel, Global
Staff of Whole Word Institute are deeply grateful for the steadfast prayer support they have received and ask continued prayer for:
- Strength and safety for translators from 10 nations studying in Jerusalem for the nine-month intensive School of Biblical Hebrew: Thank God that they have persevered through a time of war and uncertainty to stay in Israel to continue their Hebrew studies, and that the Scriptures are coming alive as they prepare to translate for their communities. This group will graduate in June and some will continue on to the Consultants-in-Training master’s programme (CiT MA).
- Wisdom and energy for the Hebrew Extension Learning Programme (HELP) staff and students in Benin, Ethiopia, Mozambique and Indonesia: HELP equips local translators and church leaders to translate Scripture directly from biblical Hebrew and also enables the creation of discipleship and spiritual growth resources. In Indonesia alone, over 100 people are eager to study and join this vital work!
- Encouragement and perseverance for those who have finished their CiT MA studies: They have now returned to their communities to work in whole Bible translation programmes. Pray for open hearts for those receiving access to Scripture in their languages for the first time.
Inviting churches to be involved in Bible translation: France
Wycliffe France is trying to raise awareness of the mission of Bible translation in churches so that more people can get involved. Staff will take part in the ‘Day for people without access to the gospel’ organised by several mission organisations in France, which will take place in June. Pray for the organisation of this event, that many churches will participate and that many people will feel called as a result. Pray for the Wycliffe France office team, which is small and faces many challenges.
