Streams of Prayer for 28 April 2025
The Streams of Prayer for 28 April 2025 is a circular from the Wycliffe Global Alliance. Wycliffe Caribbean makes this available.

Generosity, Funding and Specialty Services
As we serve together in community within global Bible translation movements, we seek to show each other love, respect and honour. Through recognising interdependence and interconnectedness, we seek an environment where all Alliance organisations (AOs) are free to give generously and receive graciously.
Giving takes many forms, such as providing time, staff, financial assistance, expertise or consulting. Through the Specialty Services Participation Stream, one AO may provide practical help or consultation services to another AO in areas such as finance, technology, administration, organisational development, partnerships or human resources.
We affirm each other for who we are and not for the type or quantity of the contribution. Our primary goal is to glorify God together in Bible translation.

Two-way generosity and inspiring involvement: Kenya
Thank God that BTL (Bible Translation and Literacy) has continued showing generosity to its partners. BTL believes in mutually beneficial relationships where partners complement each other in the work that is done. BTL’s generosity to partners is seen through visits to institutions and sharing God’s Word with them, visits and prayer with supporters in their homes and offices, and financial gifts for activities of partnering churches through BTL’s Tithe Fund. Pray that these relationships with partners will continue well.
Active involvement in providing specialist services: Ethiopia

Praise God that Wycliffe Ethiopia has been actively involved in providing specialist services to support Bible translation work, both locally and internationally. Their expertise in oral Bible translation (OBT) has positioned their members to serve as consultants, trainers and facilitators for language communities. Additionally, Wycliffe Ethiopia’s IT experts have supported partner organisations by providing IT system upgrades, setting up email systems and ensuring modernised digital infrastructure. This was done by assigning in-house IT professionals and bringing in external experts to enhance IT systems. Thank God that the organisation has also provided specialised training in typesetting, equipping four individuals with the necessary skills to serve not only Ethiopia but also other partner organisations in the region with typesetting services. Wycliffe Ethiopia ensures that the services offered align with the expressed needs of stakeholders. They desire to help others within the network of the Alliance to benefit from their experiences.
Fundraising changes and events: The Netherlands

- During Pentecost, Wycliffe Netherlands hopes to join a big Christian event called ‘Opwekking’, where more than 60,000 people come together for a few days to seek God. Wycliffe Netherlands will be present to tell people about the importance of Bible translation. Please pray for the preparations, and also for a lot of people who will be moved by the stories from all over the world.
- The Communications and Fundraising team and the Relation Management (major donor engagement) team will join forces and continue as one team: Communications and Relations. Please pray for this transition, their team leader and for a good and fruitful collaboration.
- On 7 April, Wycliffe Netherlands organised a special event for major donors. This year, over 25 guests from abroad were invited for a partner consultation. The event was intended to be a ‘two-way blessing’. Pray that God will accomplish his purposes as a result of this event, both in and through major donors and partners from the field.
Tamil project: South Asia
Tamil is a language used by large groups in South Asia. Pray for the following:
- Good health for the translation team, especially since one of the interns is facing health issues.
- God’s provision and wisdom as they seek someone to transcribe drafts and do back-translation for the consultant checks.
- Wisdom to choose accurate equivalents for certain biblical terms.
- Project funding to come from Malaysian churches, that they will see the need and contribute generously.

SEL* JESUS film: Malaysia
Praise God that translation of the JESUS film into SEL* is underway. Wycliffe Malaysia requests prayer for:
- Wisdom in finding the right words for key terms, and translating each scene
- God to send the right person to do community checks
- Good health and supernatural strength for everyone involved
- Protection as they travel by motorbike or in the pastor’s car to and from the work location
- The mother tongue translators to be able to arrive punctually
- God’s provision of funding for the projects so the work can be carried out smoothly and be completed in time.

Audio training for Scripture engagement: Global
Praise God for an audio recording training for Scripture engagement materials that took place online from 10-28 March with instructors from SIL and the Wycliffe Global Alliance. The workshop used resources from SIL’s Translating the Bible into Media and taught the use of audio recording equipment and editing software. The workshop presented free and affordable software tools that can be easily used by partners in various contexts. Students learned how to produce an audio dramatisation of Luke 15-16, how to record a musical composition and how to create a brief documentary. Pray that attendees will be able to take these skills back to their contexts and train others in how to use these tools to produce Scripture-related materials that can impact lives.
Generosity through limitations: Indonesia

The Limalas congregation on Misool Island, Raja Ampat, Papua is grateful for the orthography workshop held for four languages in the Raja Ampat Cluster by Kartidaya. It was an important step toward having access to God’s Word in their mother tongue. Even though this congregation lives simply, they happily opened their homes to the entire team, helping provide food, maintaining security, and even taking the team on a trip as a form of expressing their gratitude and support. Please pray for:
- Things to run smoothly in each of the translation programmes in the Raja Ampat Cluster
- The language writing system book from the orthography workshop to be well received by the community as a help to translating Scripture
- God’s blessings on the Limalas Village congregation for their generosity
- Provision of funding for this cluster project.
