Weekly Prayer

Weekly Prayer 5 April 2020

Sister Sharon Black offers the Weekly Prayer for 5 April 2020.

Brothers and Sisters, Friends,

I pray that you are keeping close to God. Also for God’s peace, healing, comfort and provision for those who are physically, emotionally and otherwise challenged. I also encourage you to keep focused on God. Open your hearts and listen to what he is saying in this time.

Let us look to the Lord:

“Holy Spirit rain down, rain down
Let your power fall
Let your voice be heard
Come and change our hearts as we stand on your word
Holy Spirit rain down
Oh Comforter and Friend
How we need your touch again
Holy Spirit rain down, rain down”

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Praise be the name of the Lord!

Our God and our father, we acknowledge your presence with us as we come to give you worship, to lift you up and to give you thanks for your goodness towards us.

Lord we ascribe unto you all honour, glory, power and majesty.  Our Sovereign God, we thank you that by you were all thing created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions, or principalities, or power.  We thank you that you are the Omnipotent, Omnipresent & Omniscient God. The creator of the world and all who dwell therein. We give you all the Glory, we worship you our Lord, you are worthy to be praised. Lord you forgive our iniquities; you heal our diseases; you redeem our lives from destruction; and you satisfy our mouths with good things. Great is your faithfulness O God.

We come with hearts of gratitude knowing that you love us with an everlasting love and that nothing can separate us from your love; neither death nor life; neither angels nor demons; neither the present nor the future, nor any power; neither  height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation.  Thank you father for the privilege to come boldly, individually and collectively, to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and  to seek help in times of trouble.

We thank you for your son Jesus Christ of Nazareth, in whom we have redemption through his blood, and the forgiveness of sins.  Lord we confess that we have been rebellious, disobedient and we like sheep have all gone astray. We have sinned, and have done evil in your sight and committed iniquity.  Have MERCY upon us we pray. We humbly ask for your forgiveness and that we will forgive those that trespass against us in obedience to your word.

To you O Lord belong mercy and forgiveness and we cry out to you that your wrath may not be poured out upon us.  Your word tells us that “if my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.  HEAR OUR PRAYER O LORD. Wash us afresh and cleanse us from all unrighteousness; renew a right spirit within us; do not cast us away from your presence nor take the Holy Spirit from us. Create in us clean hearts and as David said “wash us with hyssop and make us clean. Remove from us secret faults and presumption sins.

Abba Father, we bring our country Jamaica , the nations of the world and its peoples before you and ask for your MERCY.  Not for anything that we have done, but for your goodness’s sake.  Lord we cannot see your hand, but we are trusting your heart that all will be well.

We bring before you the most vulnerable – the elderly, street people, our children, the poor among us and the weak. We ask for your divine protection, you are our Jehovah NIssi – our banner; Jehovah -Jireh our provider.  We look to you for your protection and that you will provide all that is needed at this time to fight this invisible foe. Father God we know that your hand is not short and that nothing is impossible for you.

You are the God who spoke to the fierce wind and the storm. You walked on water, spoke and the earth was formed and so, as people of God under your authority, we rebuke and bind up all the diseases that afflict your people at this time and release your blessing and healing power over the nations of the world and its peoples. We pray, oh great God, for all the broken-hearted, the lonely, the depressed, the shut-in and all those who are in quarantine, self- made or otherwise. We pray that you Jehovah Shalom will visit and grant  them your peace – the peace  which surpasseth all understanding.  Draw nigh unto them  O Great God, for in the presence of the Lord there is fullness of JOY! HALLELUJAH!

We bring our leaders before you and thank you that you change the time and the season; you remove kings and set up kings; and that you give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those possessing understanding. We pray that our Prime Minster and members of the Senate, Parliament and leaders in all organization that now will boast of their accomplishments at this time, except in the Lord and that you O God will be glorified in this time.  We are grateful for all those who serve at this time in whatever capacity and that you will cover each and every one of them under the blood of Jesus Christ.  Lord, we pray that none will lost to this disease.

Thank you that you supply all our needs. We thank you in advance for all the equipment (masks, gloves, ventilators and protective gears) that are necessary for the recovery of those stricken by Covid-19.

Thank you Father that you are an on-time God.  We pray that those who have been laid off from their jobs will be provided for as we know that the cattle on a thousand hills belong to you.  Help us father to be our brother’s keeper; to love our neighbours as ourselves; and that you will give us a heart of flesh filled with compassion.

We give you thanks for our church and that we will demonstrate your love, one towards the other, especially at this time of great trials and tribulations. May  we serve one another, and that our love and faith in you will abound. Fill us with the boldness and courage to reach others at this time. Thank you God that you uphold the widow, the fatherless and that you frustrate the plans of the wicked. Let your light so shine though us so that others may see our good works and glorify our father in heaven.

Give us the courage to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who need  you most. May we be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit and that you will draw men and women unto yourself.

Lord, teach us to wait on you and to be of good courage so that you will strengthen our hearts.  Wait, I say on the Lord.  So we thank you for all that you have done, all that you are doing, and all that you will continue to do for us.

In Jesus’ name we pray.

AMEN!
